DRAIN LINING SERVICES M25, KENT, SURREY & SUSSEX
DRAIN LINING SERVICES THROUGHOUT THE M25, KENT, SURREY & SUSSEX
Traditionally, a defective, broken or leaking drain required excavation and renewal for effective repair, either to the whole run or a localised area however with well established “No-Dig” technology, it is now possible to seal pipework to a watertight condition with in
situ methods:

Structural Soft Felt Lining: Cut to length sleeve that is inflated inside the drain pipe and cured in place. Used for straight drain runs with multiple defects and to be installed from manhole or open excavation access.

Structural Patch Lining: Pre-cut lengths, usually 600mm or 1000mm, positioned to repair isolated damage within a straight drain run.

Brawolining: Cut to length sleeve that is ideal for a drain run with bends due to its flexibility.

The above techniques have many benefits, i.e. time saving, economical, minimal disruption and longevitiy, which is why lining is now most popular method for a permanent and efficient drain repair. They involve installation of a sleeve inside the original damaged drain which becomes a host pipe to the liner. Prior to introducing it into the drain, the liner is impregnated with a resin mixed with a catalyst and an accelerator which causes the liner to cure or harden. A compressed air machine then inflates the liner to the shape of the host
pipe, sealing it to a watertight condition.

Upon curing, the compressed air inflation tube is removed leaving the new sleeve in immediate working order. Long lengths are achievable in a single installation and we have installed liners exceeding 100m on numerous occasions, each one completed within a day.
In addition to the above advantages, lining also provides other superior features such as improved flow characteristics and a continuous section without joints. A typical liner is around 3mm thick so the lost cross-section of the drain diameter is minimal.

Once installed, the structural soft felt lining and structural patch lining is covered by our 15 year guarantee against faulty workmanship and materials although the manufacturers say that the life expectancy is at least 50 years.

Unfortunately, there are some circumstances which prevents liners from being installed, e.g. if the drain has collapsed, however we always endeavour to use the above methods where possible.
